RCC General Meeting
1/13/2010

Roger Tooker called meeting to order at 7:30 p.m.

Guests:  No new Guests.  Alan Cohen did however welcome some members we haven’t seen in awhile.  Murray Weinberg and the Caskey’s, Kevin and Sue.  Welcome back.

New Members:  No new members this week.

Treasurers Report:  Sharon Rosenlof gave her report, and reminded us to get out and vote.

Roger shared with us a letter from the management of Sunshine Pizza.  They have expressed concerns that the club is not spending enough money during meeting times.  Roger encouraged the group to support our host.  Questions were asked if we were looking for a new place to meet.  Several suggestions were made,  Jerry Weese suggested getting a committee together to look into different sites.  Roger asked for volunteers,  Jerry and Sharon R volunteered.

Upcoming Events:  Linda Carpenter told us that Dave Raahan is not available to chair Jacket and Movie Night and asked if any one else would be able to step in.  Unfortunately with it being just a little over a week away no one was able to.  Event was canceled for this year.  Linda also spoke about the Bylaws rule regarding funding of new events. Motion was made to open discussions to allow $100 standard fund for new events.  Discussions were held, vote was taken and passed.

-Hire a member sheet was passed out.  Make sure you get your name on it if you would like, or update your info already there.

-Puyallup Swap meet- 2/6/10 -see Rome with any questions.

-Anniversary Potluck – 2/20/10 – Ann Cohen updated us.  Being held at the Gladstone Community Club, 1:00 – 4:00.  Please specify dish you will bring when signing up.  Also bring a 1/64th scale corvette to the potluck for a special racing event.  Reminder it is a potluck this year not a brunch.  We are going for a relaxing fun afternoon.

-Bowling – Cohens updated us.  Event moved to March 7th, Sunday at Mt Hood Lanes in Gresham.  Open to all Members, their family and guests.  However members only will be eligible for trophys.  Everyone is eligible for the mixed doubles cash prizes tho.  $16 per person if bowling, $10 if not bowling but coming to cheer on and join for Pizza.

-Food Bank – 3/18/10 The food Bank has limited us to 20-25 people this time, so sign up early!

-Wine Brunch – 3/21/10 - Baleys chair.  Same as last year.  $15 per person which includes graduity but does not include any alcoholic beverages.  Jeanette cross will print up flyers for next meeting.  Meeting at the Wilsonville  rest stop.  Leave at 10:15.  Please pay in advance by the 3/10/10 meeting.  Call the Baleys or Jeanette with questions.

-Astoria Seafood and Wine Festival – 4/24-4/25/10 – Keith Livie and Tracy Reed chairs. $10 per person for the festival.  Cost of the crap feed yet to be determined.  Will be shuttling from Seaside to the festival.  Staying at the Epp Tide in Seaside.  Get your reservations early.

-Nancy’s Cruise-in – 5/1/10 – Chuck Spittal showcased the flyer for the event.  Grap one!  Oh that Chuck – a man of few words.

-Memorial Day Reno Trip – 5/29-5/31/10 Guido and Vicky Chairs.  Vicky leading change in the route.  Details to follow.

-Presidents Mystery Tour – 9/10-9/12/10 Please sign-up early so Roger has an idea of how many people to make reservations for.  And yes it’s still a Mystery so no details folks. 

Past Events:  Leavenworth – No snowmobiling or sleigh riding due to lack of snow.  14 people attended and fun was had by all!

Website:  Jeff was absent.  Events are not on website, Linda Carpenter will re-send event list to Jeff.

NWACC:  Randy Free updated – First meeting is 2/6/10 during the Puyallup Swap meet.  There will be 6 rule changes that will be voted on, 1) Helmet safety upgrade, 2) Insurance vrebage, 3) Concourse and others.  You can use the link on RCC Website to access the info on the changes.  Randy would like you to e-mail him with your opinions on these changes, he will tally a census and will vote according to the clubs desires.  Discussion ensued about the helmet rule change.  Needs to be Snell rated not just DOT approved.  Helmets can be found for as little as $89.  Herb mentioned to remember your helmet is truly only good for 5 years any way, think about what your life is worth. 

Merchandise:  Jim Petersen showed off some new stuff.  T–shirts and Sweatshirts are back in stock.  $10 for T-shirts, all sizes, black, white and ash (grey).  $25 for Hoodies M-XL.  STOCK UP FOLKS!

New Business:  Chuck Spittal informed the members of the need for supplies for Autocross.  He is needing 50 orange cones at a cost of $7 ea, and would like to purchase a hard storage case to protect the equipment we bought last year at a cost of $400.  He then made a motion to open discussions, Nick Trujillo seconded.  No questions were asked, Roger Tooker moved for a vote.  Motion to spend the money for added supplies for Autocross passed 31-3.

Jerry Weese filled us in on a car show event happening at the Oregon State fairgrounds Feb. 13th-14th. This is a by invitation only event, Jerry was invited this year and he will have more details next meeting.

Good of the Corvette:  A customer of Nancy’s, Gail Swanson sent an e-mail informing us she is selling her 92 Corvette.

Buy, Sell, Swap or Trade:  Jeff Bowden has a 69 Roadster w/ 2 tops for sale- call him for details and to make offer.

Officer at Large:  Neal showcased prizes, he has some new cool items in stock now,  he also will be having some Grand Prize items each raffle.  Buy those tickets folks!!!

Ping Pong Ball:  Won by the Tookers, $25
