EASTMORELAND GOLF CLUB
President Roger Tooker called meeting to order at 7:30.
Guests:
Alan welcomed Robert Allen for
his first visit, he has a ’75 white Corvette that has been in his family
for 20 years and a new Convertible.
Also visiting was Aaron Wygod who has a ’09 Z06 in Cyber Gray.
Welcome!

Past Events:
Nancy’s Cruise-in:
Sharon Wager thanked everyone for all their hard work and help with the
wedding they had at Nancy’s.
They had a dynamite time!
Congrats Sharon and Wayne!
Pat Hutton praised the cook tent at the Cruise-in and extended a thank
you to Alan and Ann Cohen for all the time and hard work they put in to
make this events happen!
Ann updated us on the details:
Event raised $15,000 for Guide Dogs for the Blind.
Best year was $16,000.
She extended her thanks to all who helped make it happen:

Chuck and all his guys on parking
Linda Carpenter, Kathleen Hamilton and the Weeks’ on registration, got
their 340 cars thru quickly and with no problems
Post- registration handled 96 cars
Tim and Janet, you did a great job!
Lynne Fischer raised $7000 on the raffle, despite the flood.
Pat & Karen Hutton for the food booth, they passed the county health
inspection with flying colors, a lesson for the Route 26 booth!
The Wests’ for helping the food booth raise its $400+ dollars (all
receipts not in yet)
Al and Char Clark, for bringing the coffee maker and keeping us all
warm.
Tim, Randy and Al for loaning us tents to get us through after three of
ours failed due to weather.
And Ed Perry for officiating the special event and making sure the
I-do’s were finished before the rain hit.

really fast!)
Overall, Nancy was thrilled!
Rain or shine the show must go on!

Congratulations All!
Karen Hutton shared her story of last years Guide Dog Graduation
ceremony, reminded us of how much these dogs help old to young and
encouraged us all to attend the up coming ceremony.
Tim from Suburban and his wife Carol represented Nancy in extending 120%
thanks to RCC for all the help making this event happen, couldn’t do it
without ya!
Gary West thanked all who helped in the food booth, thru rain and shine
you got the job done.
Roger suggested that profits should go to the purchase of new tents.
Upcoming Events:
Linda Carpenter reminded the membership to make sure if they are
chairing an event to turn articles and pictures into Glassfacts and a
list of attendees into the Cohens.
-Hire a Member list was circulated
-May Tour – 5/15/10 Logues and Wests chairs – meet exit 18 I84 at Lewis
and Clark Park. Bring cash
for Blind Poker, explanations after drivers meeting.
Destination Maupin.
Donuts, juice and waters supplied, bring your own coffee.
Bring your FRS Radios and chairs.

Meet at 5:30, flyers available.
-Golf Tournament – 6/13 Neal Sommerset chair.
Co-ed tournament.

The drawing for contestants will be hels at the June 9th
General Meeting, you must be on the sign-up sheet.
Anyone who did carry a contestant last year will be drawn first.

-Classic Clean-up 7/25 Connors’ chair.
Bring your own cleaning supplies, hoses and lifts provided.
BBQ, bring a side to share, traditional raffle and White Elephant
raffle for fun. Starts at
10:00ish
-Presidents Mystery Tour 9/10-9/12 Roger Tooker chair. Destination is a
mystery, $240 per couple includes room and one scheduled dinner, please
pay Sharon as soon as possible so confirmations can be made.
Events will be available, pay when you get there for those.
-Autocross/Shelton 5/16 – meeting for breakfast at the Shari’s on
Airport way, leaving at 4:30 am.
-Classic 7/30-8/2– Cohens chair.

will be assigning volunteers at the next meeting.
-Flyers went around for other clubs up coming events.
Bill Christ handed around flyers for the St Helens Elks club car
show 7/24 benefiting OHSU Eye Clinic.
Passed out forms for anyone interested in donating raffle prizes,
goodie bags items or trophies.

Sharon gave the report for the month of May.

Old Business:
Still looking for volunteer to host the Christmas Party this year.
Jerry Weese mistakenly stood up to say something and was promptly
thanked by our President for volunteering for the event.
Thankfully Anna graciously agreed to chair the party this year.

What Jerry wanted to say was that he had received a late request for 3
cars for the St Johns parade. Jeanette Cross, Ron Beymer and Jerry will
fill those spots.
New Business:
Discussion was held to use the profit from the food booth at Nancy’s to
replace the three tents that were damaged during the event due to
weather. George Boller made
motion to do so, Gary west seconded, motion passed by majority.
We need a volunteer to chair the Calendar for 2011
New Cars:
Dave Raahahn got a ’65 Roadster, Ron Beymer got an ’05 Victory
Red Monte Carlo.
Good of the Corvette:
Stories were shared about an Alaska resident whose Corvette
caught fire and a local Milwaukee resident who got his White ’54 stolen.
Check those locks folks!
Dennis Parfit shared his recent trip to Corona California where
he was invited to take a ride in a 606 hp Calloway Grandsport. They even
let him drive! He also got
a tour of the facility down there.
Very cool!
