RCC General Meeting

EASTMORELAND GOLF CLUB

President Roger Tooker called meeting to order at 7:31 pm. 

Guests:  no new guests

New Members:  Sharon welcomed Bob and Lisa Long and their 99 Pewter Coupe.

Treasurer:  Sharon Rosenlof gave the report for June.

Roger made a quick announcement about the Mystery Tour.  More people have signed up then there are rooms.  He secured a second hotel, so as you pay you will be given a number, first ones to pay will go into the first hotel.  Late pays will be in the second.

Ping Pong Ball:   $34 won by Al Clark.  Drawing held early in meeting since we were drawing for Miss Oregon, ping-pong balls needed for that.  

Past Events:  Steve Thomas spoke about the Guide Dogs for the Blind Graduation.  Wonderful event, awesome organization and with our help at the Cruise-in Nancy raised $15,000.  Presentation of the check was made at the graduation. 

-Reno – Vicky said the trip was wonderful, hope all got back ok, sorry to all whom missed it this year.  Alan shared stories of leading and missing the turn, darn that nav system, and people getting pulled over and such.  The group met up with former members Dave and Linda Abel who now live down there.  Great time!

Upcoming Events:  Spring Tour – 6/19 – Rosenlof’s Chair.  Fun trip planned, please pay ASAP to RCC.  Meet at the Monarch at 9:00, leave at 9:30. Heading to Silver Falls then to Salem for lunch.

-Golf Tournament – 6/13 – Neal Sommerset chair.  Flyers are out, should be good weather.

-Bow Tie Event – 7/3

-Miss Oregon – 7/10 – Chuck Spittal Chair.  Parade, BBQ following at the Geddes.  Drawing of drivers at end of meeting.  Steve Gedde spoke about the BBQ, bring lawn chairs all invited.

-Classic Clean-up – 7/25 – Connors Chair.  Linda detailed event, bring side dish for BBQ if you can.  Bring a white elephant raffle prize if you want to play.  Bring a lawn chair to rest your weary bones. Bring your appetites and dirty cars.

-Chatauqua Parade – 8/7 – 10:00 am, bring candy.

-Chili Cookoff – 8/14 – Perry’s chair.  When you sign up put down if you are bringing chili or a side.

-Drive-in Movie Night – 8/21 – Shively’s chair.  Meeting at 5:00 at the Sherwood Safeway.  Potluck, sign up for dish. Bring Chairs.  More details to follow.

-Presidents Mystery Tour – 9/10-9/12 – Roger Tooker chair.  $240 per couple includes 2 nights and one dinner. 

-Flyers went out for shows, St Helens Elks 7/24 and Sweet Home 6/26

-Classic – 7/30-8/2 – Cohens chair.  Julie Ralston spoke about the raffle baskets, your help makes it all happen.  List of ideas was distributed.  Volunteer sheets for the four days of events went out. 

Merchandise:  Jim showed off catalogs we can special order from.  He also has an XL Black Sweatshirt in stock $35. 

Glassfacts:    Windi and LouAnn still getting things set-up.  Please continue to get your articles and pix in.  Slight change to e-mail, it is now:  rcc-glassfacts@comcast.net

Roger reminded the membership to remember our host and not to forget to tip your servers.

Linda Carpenter announced to all Event Chairs that if any extra funds are needed for their events they must present the request to the board for approval.  Also, to make sure that after the event they submit their pix and articles to the Glassfacts and a list of participants to the Cohens.  The list is needed for Member of the Year tallying.

BSST:  Wayne Simmons has an 88 Chevy PU for sale $1800.  Roger received an e-mail about an 04 C5 Torch out of Central Oregon.  He has details.   

Officer at Large:  Neal Sommerset held the raffle.
