RCC General Meeting

EASTMORELAND GOLF CLUB

 

President Roger Tooker called the meeting to order at 7:30 pm.  Roger welcomed everyone to the meeting.  

 

The President asked the Secretary if the minutes for the last meeting had been posted and she replied no. When they get posted they will be approved.  They will be done shortly.    All Board Members were present and accounted for.

 

Guests:  No new guests but one new member - William (Bill) Cline.

 

Vice President Report-Janet Sakakibara commented on the following:

Club member announcements: Dave Raahahn is retired and Walt and Dee Shively have a new Grandson.

Upcoming events:

  • Bowling Meeting- $16.00 per person provides 3 games and shoes (pay at the event). Then all will go to Flying Pie Pizza (Main and Burnside) with tons of pizza and soda provided.  Cash prizes for blind doubles.  Mt Hood Lanes in Gresham for the bowling starts at 9am be there at 8:30.   Trophies presented. If you plan on going but are not bowling and just eating it will cost $10.00. The bowling date is on Feb. 20th.  Family and Friends are welcomed to attend.

  • Feb 23rd at Nancy’s General Meeting Event. Pizza, salad, cookies and drinks will be provided. Remember to bring    Bears and Blankets to support the Sheriff’s children fund. Meeting and food starts at 6pm.

  • Wine Brunch hosted by Nick and Sharon Bailey at Eola Hills winery, Brunch. March 20th.  Meet at Wilsonville Exit at 9:45 and we are leaving at 10:15, flyers are on clip board.

  • Go Carts, Walt and Dea Shively are the hosts, March 26th.  Require a deposit at the last meeting before March 23rd.

  • 82nd Ave. Rose Festival Parade. Jerry Weese hosts. There will be more Princesses and more celebrity’s this year and they need 19 cars.  The grand Marshall will be the cop that got shot in the face a few years back.

  • Auto Cross tech day.  At JC Motors Saturday April 16th. More news to come.

  • Nancy’s Cruise In- May 7th Vicky announced that Chuck Spittal is the Chairman, and he has asked that people will step up and help as they have in the past.

  • Cruise to Maupin, OR.  May 14th.  Meet at the Lewis Clark rest area.  Includes a lunch.  Beautiful lawn that goes to the lodge and down to the river.  The West’s and Louge’s will host again.

  • May 21st Spring Tour hosted by the Rosenlof’s and have graciously moved to accommodate the 82nd Ave. parade.

  • Memorial Day tour, Coast Victoria Harbour side hotel, Beymer’s hosting.  Going to Victoria, Canada. May 27th – May 30th or May 31st return.

  • April 23rd for the Oil Change day and lunch at the West’s.      10-2pm

Past Events: none to report on.

 

Special announcement by Sharon and Wayne Simmons: 
When they got married at Nancy’s last year, they hired a professional photographer.  He never gave them the pictures. They filed a small claims against him. Later they received  a Fed ex envelope from Judge Judy and then Peoples Court.  They chose to go to People’s Court who flew them into Manhattan.  They won their suit.  On the Judgment the production company pays the awards. They will let the membership know when it will be aired.  

 

Treasurer Report:
Linda announced that there is a rough draft of the roster. MaryHelen reviewed it as well. They are sending it around so please check your information and update it if you need to. Please pay your dues if you haven’t paid your dues as of tonight.   Linda Connors gave the treasurer report.  Membership cards will be distributed at a later time with the roster.  Total of 76 members paid as of tonight's meeting.  Linda cautioned that we need to watch our budget.  Cause if we don’t make money at the Classic we could go in the hole as most events just pay for themselves and we also have some club funds to pay for event costs.

 

Merchandise report:  Now is Dave Raahahn. We still have clothing items for sale, Hoodies and T-shirts. 

Newsletter:  nothing to report

NWACC Event- meeting is at noon at Puyallup Swap Meet.  Vicky stated the meeting starts at noon and the voting will be at the meeting on the new rules that have been proposed and are on the website.

 

Mike the National Corvette Museum chair gave us a trivia question.  How many Corvette clubs in the Country are registered members of the National Corvette Museum?  Then he stated that only five clubs are in the NW and only one in Oregon and it is Rogue River Valley.  He is going to find out what the fee is to register and bring to the board since RCC is not registered.  Upcoming raffles include a 2011 white Corvette Grand Sport $250.00 for each ticket they are only selling 500 and as of today only 127 tickets have been sold February 10th. On Feb 17th a 2011 black Camaro SS/RS Coupe for raffle

Old Business/Unfinished business:
Microphone –Jim Peterson stated that he had been researching microphones to purchase for the club.  $99.00 is the cheapest but doesn’t mean that it will work. $199.00has 8 channels and the cost for the 2 year guarantee is $25 to $30.00 Next step up is $289.00. Free standing 150 watts of power speaker amplified for another $200.00. Our microphone is not worth fixing.  Jennifer Mortensen made the motioned for the $199.00 and one speaker for $200.00 and Bob Anderson seconded it. The motioned was unanimously passed.

New Business:

Roger asked if anyone was interested in the Car show in Joseph usually the second weekend in June.  Roger will find out more information about hotels and other information, since a few members were interested.

 

Buy Sell Swap Trade:  Alan Cohen is selling his 2003 Anniversary edition it has 21000 miles on it. Also he is  selling his 2004 Silverado and his Suburban.  Call him if interested.

Good of the Corvette:

Policy Meeting- Dave Raahahn reported that the agenda was to go over the minutes from 2005-2010 to make sure that any motions that were passed in meetings that they were in accordance with the By-laws. If not, they will make recommendations to the revisions and present to the Board.  The process will take a few more meetings.

 

Next Board meeting is at the Sommerset’s home in West Linn on March 3rd.

 

Officer at Large:  Held the raffle.

Ping Pong Ball: raffle was won.

 

Motion was made to adjourn the meeting and meeting was adjourned at 8: 36 pm.
