RCC General Meeting

EASTMORELAND GOLF CLUB

 

President Roger Tooker called the meeting to order at 7:30 and welcomed everyone to the meeting.

 

The Secretary stated that the past meeting minutes had been posted to the RCC website and all Board members were present and accounted for at this meeting.

Treasurer’s report was given by Linda Connors

 

Vice President Report-Janet Sakakibara commented on the following upcoming events:

  • August 13th Chili Cook Off at Ed and BJ Perry starting at 2pm.  Bring your Chili and swim trunks.

  • August 20th Newberg Drive In night hosted by Walt and Dea Shively. Meet at Safeway in Sherwood at 5pm.  Please state what potluck dish you will bring to share.  Raffle prizes and two movies to watch.    

  • President’s Mystery Tour Sept. 9th – 11th.  Total is $300.00 minus your $75.00 deposit. Roger asked those going to pay the rest now. If you haven’t signed up by now you’re not going.

  • Christmas Party Dec. 3rd. Starting a sign-up sheet now to see how many may want to attend. $40.00 Plated dinner.

Past Event Reporting

  • August 6th Parade for Chautauqua Parade. Guido reminds everyone to bring lots of candy.  Meet at 10am at Gladstone HS. Guido wanted to thank RCC for bringing so much candy for the Gladstone kids.  Even though everyone brought pounds of candy they ran out.  Dave won 1st place for his Corvette.  

  • Three City Corvettes Jerry reported how much fun the event was in Kennewick and suggested that many of the members may want to go next year.  There was a run to the Winery with dinner on Friday. The Show n Shine on Saturday with a final Rock n Roll Concert Saturday night all included along with a lot of food for an entry of $35.00.  In addition, the Sponsor Mr. McCurly of McCurly Chevrolet was very giving to all of the attendees. All monies received for the event went to the Washington Make a Wish Foundation of over $3K.

  • Larry Duhrkoop reported on the Brickyard trip they won from Nancy’s Cruise In.  Said that he and Sue had a great time and everyone should make that a trip.   

  • Dave won for Best Convertible Cruzin with the cops. . 

  • Glass on Grass in Spokane, WA  reported by Robin.  She stated that McCurly Chevrolet was the sponsor at that event as well.  He wants to be the premier sponsor of the Pacific Northwest.  It was an excellent show as well and proceeds were raised for  Charity as well.  

  • NWACC event-Roger ran into a brick wall with his daughters Corvette in Autocross.  No one was hurt.

Merchandise report:  

 

Dave announced that he has hats and t-shirts for sell and are mostly displayed on the coat rack with the usual selection of items to choose from. RCC different color glass stickers for your Corvette the cost is $5.00 apiece.   Since the Inventory there are all sorts of patches now available at various prices.  See Dave for patches available and the cost.  License plate frame is $5 for 2 frames.  See Dave to look at Catalogs for new items.

Newsletter:   Nothing new to report.

 

NWACC Report:

 

Proposed NWACC changes coming at the end of the year.  Members club dues going up to $9.00 per person.  If you belong to two clubs it will only be half at both clubs. The NWACC Dinner scheduled on November 5th at the Red Lion in Longview, Washington.  Clubs requested to send $100.00. 

 

National Corvette Museum:

 

Mike presented his report.  Raffle tickets for $10 apiece for a 2012 Black Convertible Corvette. The NCM website has many events coming up. Please take a look to see them all.

New Business:

 

Upcoming elections if you have a desire to be on the board then let someone know so they can nominate you.  Elections will come up in September.

 

Bailey’s have a new car. A 1934  Red Ford five window. A car Sharon has wanted forever so Nick got it for her.

  • Gordy Peterson has a C5 new glass hard top for $900.00

  • Mr. Mazik has a Tom Tom navigation with blue tooth connection to your phone and all the software. $60.00

  • Dave Raahahn has a set of unused custom floor mats and cargo mat for a C6 that has a grey or black interior, $200.00 or best offer.

  • Dave R. has a trunk cover for $20.00

  • Mud flaps for a C-5 by Al Clark selling for $35.00.
